Founded in 2002 in Maumee, Ohio, in memory of Claire Lynsey Rubini, Claire’s Day has grown to become the largest children’s book festival in Northwest Ohio. What began as a heartfelt tribute to a young girl’s love of reading has become a vibrant community tradition serving thousands of children and families each year.

Because of our sponsors, we are able to host two incredible festivals—Toledo on May 2nd and Maumee on May 16th – Celebrating Life, Authors & Illustrators and Reading Excellence through the C.A.R.E. Awards, which honor more than 1,300 students for their growth and achievement in reading.

These partnerships do more than fund our festivals. They celebrate achievement, and open the door to literacy opportunities for more than 20,000 children across 30 schools throughout Northwest Ohio through our Author/Illustrator visits. Together, we are celebrating life through literacy and ensuring that Claire’s legacy continues to inspire future generations.
