The information you provide about yourself when making a contribution or downloading and submitting an application may be used in our programs and activities.  We enter donor information into our database so we can contact you with any questions, provide information about our events and programs, and request contributions.  We enter provider agency information into a database so we can contact you when necessary and send informational updates on programs and events.  Provider agency names are listed on informational materials dispersed by Read For Literacy.  We do not share this information with outside parties, except to the extent necessary to complete your request.

You may contact Read For Literacy’s administrative office at any time to have your information removed from our mailing list and/or database.

Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

 

Our Commitment To Children’s Privacy

Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are under 13, and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 13.

 

Social Networking Policy

Read For Literacy recognizes the value of social networking (blogs, community reviews, patron comments, and other social software tools) to increase the public’s knowledge of and use of our literacy services and for educational, cultural, civic, and recreational purposes.  RFL’s social networking tools provide a limited public forum to facilitate the sharing of ideas, opinions, and information about literacy-related subjects and issues.  RFL’s social networking tools are intended to create a welcoming and inviting online experience, where users will find useful and important information and can interact with staff and other RFL supporters.  Comments are moderated by RFL staff.  RFL’s administration has exclusive right to remove comments that are unlawful, off-topic or deemed inappropriate.
