Amazing Race for Literacy
How it works:
You’ll receive a list of clues to zoo landmarks or locations. With your team, you’ll explore the zoo to solve these clues, take pictures to earn points, and return to the zoo’s Malawi Event Center afterward for a post-race celebration, dinner, and auction / restaurant gift card raffle.
Is it family friendly?
Of course! We welcome family teams and even have a separate winner’s category for family teams.
What should I wear?
The race involves moving and walking, so we recommend casual, comfortable dress. We also have a costume contest for the best dressed team, so feel free to show up in your wackiest (family friendly) literary or zoo themed costumes!
What about zoo admission and parking? Is that included?
Yes, zoo admission and parking are included with every ticket purchase for the event.
What does this event support?
By attending this event, you’ll support the efforts of Read for Literacy, a non-profit organization that, for over 30 years, has provided a variety of literacy programs to Lucas, Wood, and Seneca counties. Your participation supports programs for all ages—from the youngest readers to adults seeking literacy support in our area.
