Case of Support
Read for Literacy is working to increase literacy skills in Lucas, Wood, Defiance, Henry and Fulton Counties. It is estimated that more than 39,000 adults are reading at or below the 4th grade level. Our programs and services are designed to assist adults, children and families to gain the skills they need to have literacy success. Your investment in our program allows Read for Literacy the opportunity to bring essential services to those in need.
Short Description of Programs and History
For over 30 years Read for Literacy has been a local partner, providing a wide range of literacy services. We are able to provide reader friends to children and tutors to adults to increase their reading, writing and conversation skills. Our current Signature Lines of Service are:
- Adult Basic and Family Education
- Creating Young Readers
- Claire’s Day
- Outreach and Volunteers
