We are passionate about making our community more literate. It is more than just a job to us. Because of this, it is vital for our donors to trust us in our work and use of their generous contributions so that we can continue to make a difference in the lives of children, families and adults. Read for Literacy has developed comprehensive requirements for data transparency and financial accountability. These standards are based on current best practices in our industry as well as generally accepted accounting principles and requirements of the Financial Accounting Standards Board and the IRS.
Below you will find copies of our past IRS Form 990 and our Audits, prepared by our independent accountant and auditing firm. By posting these items, as well as completing and earning a Gold Star of Transparency from Guidestar, we want our donors to know that we will do our best to ensure that we have accountability, governance, oversight, and measurements of effectiveness as we collect and distribute funds for the delivery of quality literacy programs.
