    The Blade's 29th Annual Corporate & Community Spelling Bee is Coming!

    For nearly 30 years, Read For Literacy has been a leading advocate in Lucas, Wood, and Seneca Counties. When you support Read for Literacy, you give the most powerful gift of all – the ability to read! Join us on October 27 for this fun event and help children, adults, and families in our community gain the literacy skills they need to do well in school, get better jobs, and succeed. This is a spelling be like no other – Laughter is encouraged! Words aren’t spelled aloud! Work as a team! And most of all, we want you to have fun!     Now Seeking Volunteers!

    We are recruiting volunteers for all of our programs. Volunteers are needed for Creating Young Readers in Preschool and Elementary Schools, Monday - Friday from 11am-2pm. Volunteers are needed at the library 11am-3pm and 4-7pm. And volunteers are needed to work with adults Monday - Friday at various locations and times. If you would like to help a child or adult in one of our programs, please contact us at 419-242-7323. Our volunteers tell us that the time they give to their students is the best part of their week.
